1) Our first suggestion is to anchor your winter vacation in North Conway, NH with the MWV Ski Touring Foundation's Annual Chocolate Festival!

Happening on Sunday, February 26th, and known as the "Sweetest Day on the Trails" this chocolate festival features over ten stops at local inns and shops spanning North Conway, NH to Intervale, NH.

Hosted by the local MWV Ski Touring Foundation, 45km of its nordic ski trails will connect you to each stop. Tickets are limited and can be purchased as part of a lodging package or individually. Participants can choose to ski or drive to each stop.

The best piece of advice we can give you before heading out on your chocolate tour is to anchor your morning with a well-rounded breakfast. Keep the steady flow of chocolate you're about to enjoy in check by first ordering something high in protein and veggies! While we're not health experts, but we do know the best places for breakfast in North Conway, NH and beyond.

Some fan favorites include:
Priscilla's Country Kitchen, where you'll find freshly squeezed orange juice; piping hot coffee; fresh fruit crepes; and build your own omelets.

The Local Grocer, right outside of North Conway village, is a farm-to-table cafe where you can order freshly pressed juices, smoothies, and breakfast sandwiches and burritos featuring produce, cheeses, and meat sourced from New Hampshire farms.

Bagels Plus and Big Dave's Bagels and Deli are your bagel headquarters in Mt. Washington Valley! Both spots make their bagels from scratch, and pair them with the best ingredients for breakfast sandwiches!

The MWV Ski Touring Foundation's Chocolate Festival is only one flavor of dining in North Conway, NH, and planning your vacation around it.

Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing Co. is a local favorite for lunch and dinner after a day playing outside.

Some of the area's locals favorite ways to spend time in the area are by enjoying an ice cold grapefruit cosmo with a charcuterie board and oysters at Chef's Bistro!

Or ordering a freshly squeezed Lemonade sweetened with local maple syrup and pizza from Flatbread Company. Local favorites include "The P.I." or "Happy Valley Community" pizzas - but one thing is for sure, never make your decision without hearing the carne and veggie specials first!

Shannon Door Restaurant and Pub is serving Irish comfort food in the form of Shepard's Pie and meatloaf, but it's also one of the best spots for pizza and wings. Locals will tell you their  favorite order is buffalo wings to start, chased by a pepperoni pizza! Located just fifteen minutes from Wildcat Mountain and right up the road from Jackson Ski Touring Foundation, Shannon Door is a great option after a day spent skiing.

Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives just ate here! Moat Mountain Smokehouse, makes most of its menu from scratch, down to its BBQ sauce, dressings, and even its beer! It's a BBQ forward menu with Southwestern and Thai flair. Its Longhorn nachos and its Czech Pilsner are a great pairing with a day spent on skis!

3) Make sure to include a date night during your vacation in North Conway, NH and experience the valley's options for fine dining. Opt to dress up or keep it casual, many restaurants offer casual fine dining, where you can show up in jeans, but the food will be all dressed up!

A true farm to table restaurant, with a farm on the premises the Thompson House Eatery is a James Beard Award nominated restaurant. It's menu changes regularly with what's available from its farm, but you're always promised a one-of-a-kind experience with drinks, entrees, and desserts that defy traditional flavor pairings, and are as locally sourced as possible, and hand made, baked and crafted.

Stone Mountain Arts Center is a way to a gift a truly unique evening to your date! It's a hybrid of a theater and restaurant, featuring nationally known acts in a beautifully built timber-frame barn. Its menu is off the charts delicious with portions that defy expectation, and the staff are so warm and welcoming. Enjoy dinner and a show at Stone Mountain Art Center, where your experience will stay with you long after you leave.

The Oxford House Inn is another restaurant offering a real culinary experience. Located in Fryeburg, Maine, just a fifteen minute drive from North Conway, NH, dining at The Oxford House offers a formal restaurant and a speakeasy in its basement which features granite walls and a crackling fireplace. The same menu is featured in both restaurants so you can still enjoy favorites such as the Hoisin Duck with Scallion Pancakes, a Grilled Ribeye with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes or a Cider Braised Pork Shank with Cranberry Gremolata.

Stonehurst Manor is a great option for a date night in North Conway, NH! Arrive early to your dinner reservation so you can enjoy a martini in its library lounge. Its main bartender is a longtime local, who has been shaking, stirring and pouring beverages at Stonehurst Manor for years. You'll find a well-balanced drink to enjoy by the lounge's fireplace before you're called in for your dinner reservation!
